Main Street Sound is York's only Ladies Barbershop Chorus. We have around 35 members of all ages who share the love of close harmony four part singing. We are affiliated to the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers and as well as taking part in the national conventions, we also compete in local music festivals and other local events.
we sing n four part harmony, unaccompanied , and there is a voice part to suit ! The higher voices sing the tenor part, the leads mostly sing the melody, the basses are the lowest voice part and the baritones complete the chords. Why not come along and see which voice part suits you!
