About Main Street Sound, York Ladies Barbershop Chorus.

Main Street Sound was founded in 1996 and now has approximately 30 female members from ages ranging approximately 16 - 70+, singing 4 part harmony (unaccompanied).

We entered the annual Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) convention for the first time in 2003.  By 2007 we achieved our highest position of 12th position against approximately 30 other competing chorus clubs.

A new music team has recently joined us (2009) under the direction of Terry Adamson and we are currently increasing our repertoire with renewed energy and enthusiasm - but still having fun along the way!!
